High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) years combined experience in IP Networking, microwave system maintenance and repair, and/or land mobile system repair,
AND
A valid Driver’s License.
An Associate’s Degree in an applied science, engineering or a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree in electrical technology or a related field may substitute for four years of experience.
Completion of an advanced vocational training course, including completion of specialized military training, in a related field may be considered in lieu of an Associate’s Degree.
Preference will be given to candidates who can lift and carry 50 pounds.
Duties DescriptionDevelop, implement and maintain IP network, including routing protocols, network traffic, and access control.
Maintain, repair, test, configure and install microwave communications equipment with associated networking equipment for systems used by State Police and partner agencies.
Coordinate microwave network maintenance activities with vendors and partner agencies.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in microwave network systems.
Travel throughout New York State will be necessary for training, special events or to provide command post support.
Perform such other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
