Purpose:
Customer Support Advisors focus on United Construction and Forestry’s customer’s equipment by partnering with the customer to offer equipment management solutions that help the customer achieve a lower owning and operating cost.
This position provides product support services and solutions to customers within designated territories, maximizes product support sales with designated customers while ensuring maximum customer satisfaction levels, and increases customer satisfaction from assigned house accounts as well as captures incremental business from customers in their assigned territory.
The CSA will be the primary liaison between the customer and United C&F in all areas related to product support.
Technical Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be motivated to work in a fast paced, commission-based Sales environment.
This individual must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required by the position.
This individual must be comfortable using a computer and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation.
A strong knowledge of functions, operations, and applications, of the customers’ heavy equipment along with basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy/industrial equipment is a must.
This individual must be able to identify target customers and products, quote those products, and then make the sale while in the field.
Participating in industry associates is strongly encouraged.
Education/Certificates
College degree preferred or relevant work experience, with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within a similar field.
Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
Computer skills need to be broad based.
A valid driver’s license will be required.
Experience:
3-5 years of heavy equipment (earth moving) and or heavy equipment sales
Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
Occasional training will require travel outside of the territory.
*Key Role Responsibilities:*
* Research parts in appropriate John Deere systems and other vendor systems for the customers when the parts department cannot.
* Maximize product support sales from designated customers.
Both parts and labor sales.
* Perform regular undercarriage inspections and assist the customer in managing their undercarriage fleet.
* Maintain customer service excellence by becoming an indispensable consultant for their equipment management needs.
* Work with territory sales reps to maximize the probability of repeat sales and increase United C&F’s share of new equipment purchases.
* Develop new product support business within the assigned territory, with customers that haven’t utilized United C&F in the past.
* Maintain thorough knowledge of United C&F’s product line and their product support offerings.
* Maintain an average of six-ten customer contacts per day.
* Be cognizant of product support trends in the industry and monitor shifts in customer needs and adapt to them.
* Constantly seek self-improvement by gaining product/sales knowledge, reading, and listening to outside sources.
