*Program Philosophy:*
The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center (MACSC) is a private, not-for-profit agency whose mission is to _enhance the quality of life for area residents through family support, empowerment, recreation and education programs for all ages.
_The Youth Violence Prevention Coordinator will implement and grow youth programs which complement MACSC’s efforts to create opportunities for youth development, anti-bullying, violence prevention and teen dating violence in an upbeat, welcoming & empowering manner.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree and minimum two years relevant experience, or, minimum of four years experience working with / supervising youth programming
* Available to work a couple evenings a week for open gym
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Genuine desire to work and connect with youth
* Ability to give presentations / trainings in local school districts
* Preferred experience working with victims of domestic violence / teen dating violence, but willing to train the right individual
*Expected Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
* Full understanding of MACSC programs and MACSC’s role within the greater community
* Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
* Self-starter with high standards of ethics and interest
* Ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere
*Essential Job Functions:*
Implement and oversee all MACSC youth programs including open gym, facilitate Partners In Parenting, teen dating violence prevention in local schools, liaison for Girls On The Run and Boys on the Move, special projects such as holiday assistance and back to school supply drives, community service & job readiness for youth, planning of Summer Adventure Program.
Additionally, work closely with domestic violence advocates to encourage respectful and safe communication skills for kids and families.
