Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
An associate degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of experience working in training and development
Preferred Qualifications

Duties DescriptionAs a Training and Development Specialist II, you will have the opportunity to work closely with teams throughout the organization to assist with all training and workforce development activities, including all staff compliance training, departmental training, interdepartmental training, and supplemental learning initiatives.
This position focuses on instructional design and development of content offered to execute our workforce development deliverables.
The duties of the Training & Development Specialist 2 include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Create and design training materials, including e-learning modules and multi-media presentations.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and effective.
Maintains e-learning platforms and courses and ensures functionality and accessibility of courses.
Obtain, organize, or develop course agenda, script, outlines, training guides, teaching aids, course materials, handouts, course evaluation or course flyers.
Provide general administrative support to the Training and Development team.
This includes running reports, sending reminders, troubleshooting, providing status updates, and ensuring employee training records are up-to-date and accurate.
Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in Training and Development.
This includes technology-based and/or blended learning solutions to provide cost-effective ways to meet workforce development needs.
Assist with coordinating logistics for monthly training sessions, workshops, or events.
This includes registration, scheduling space, classroom setup, materials requests, creation of courses and verification of attendance in LMS.
Develop course curricula for online and instructor-led trainings.
Support the planning and development of strategic priorities and business initiatives.
May supervise positions involved in the administration of training programs.
Administer NYSTRS’ negotiated Educational Assistance Program, including acting as liaison with CSEA LEAP and NYSTRS’ Finance department, ensuring compliance with the negotiated agreement, researching accreditation issues, maintaining records, processing tuition reimbursement and consulting with employees about educational opportunities and program requirements.
Assist with the evaluation of training programs through surveys, assessments, and feedback analysis.
Perform related duties as required.
